It turns out that Goldfinger is indeed cheating and Bond forces him to admit his guilt and pay $50,000, $35,000 to balance out the cheating, $10,000 to buy Bond's silence, and $5,000 for wasting Mr. Du Pont suspects Goldfinger of cheating and offers to pay Bond to confirm his suspicions.

This theme has been endlessly repeated ever since Auric Goldfinger met his demise once Hollywood gets an image like that in its writers' heads, a little thing like reality isn't going to stand in the way.The novel begins in a similar fashion to Moonraker with an acquaintance of Bond ( Junius Du Pont from Casino Royale) meeting him in Miami and requesting that he observe a Canasta game between him and the eponymous villain of the novel, Auric Goldfinger. One thing about this movie that (as a pilot) drives me nuts: this is where everyone got the idea that you'll get sucked out like playdough if there's a little hole in the side of a plane. Certainly not as gritty or realistic as the most recent Bond, but the movie was made to be entertaining, not educational, and it serves up the fun generously. Although released in 1964, it seems less dated (not to mention corny) as many of Roger Moore's 1970s Bod flicks. 'Goldfinger' features 007 Sean Connery at his suave best, chasing a memorable villain (with the best evil henchman ever) in the original gadget-laden spy car, while never even wrinkling the tuxedo under his wetsuit. (If you can see two, catch 'Diamonds are Forever' too.) If you can see only one of the two-dozen-or-so James Bond movies, this would have to be the one. The ultimate James Bond in the ultimate Bond movie Connery than I can recommend a good mental hospital for you to reside in! If you can seriously tell me Roger Moore, Geaorge Lazenby, Timothy Dalton, Pierce Brosnan and Daniel Craig are cooler and smoother and more believable than Mr. The other guys films were too dependant on special effects and too many gadgets. I suppose someone will disagree with me here but if they do they don't know anything about film.

Not just Bond but Goldfinger, Oddjob, Jill Masterson (Shirley Eaton - would you?), Tilly Masterson and on and on! The scenery throughout is great - Switzerland, Kentucky, Miami! I have seven(7) )of these films and they're all Sean Connery! The other guys just don't measure up. Sean Connery is outstanding! He IS James Bond! Ask any woman who is James Bond and they will tell you Sean Connery! My wife creams her jeans every time she sees him in these films. Pussy Galore!?! Are you kidding!?! The single most famous name in film history!
